Handmade
Christmas stockings, personal computers,
kids’ clothing
and books galore were among the many
items changing hands at the second
annual Outdoor Flea Market/Garage Sale
fundraiser held last Saturday on the
Cambridge Campus of Anoka-Ramsey Community
College. The event, sponsored by the
Cambridge Campus Foundation, raised
more than $2,000 for student scholarships.
Busy and crowded, the sale attracted
hundreds of shoppers throughout the
day to the vendor stands set up in
the West Campus parking lot. This year’s
event grew to 20 vendors total, an
increase of 4 vendors over last year’s
event. Many shoppers stopped by while
making the rounds to garage sales held
all over town during the citywide Cambridge
Garage Sale Day.
The successful event raised funds
in three primary ways: the sale of
goods donated to the foundation; the
sale of refreshments to shoppers; and
the rental of display space and equipment
to outside vendors.
Plans are already being made for next
year’s Flea Market/Garage Sale
fundraiser. For more information about
the Foundation, call 763-422-3436.
