College is hosting two public, visual art openings Feb 8 - related exhibits will run through the first week of March
January 12, 2018
Anoka-Ramsey Community College is hosting two art-related events on Thursday, Feb. 8, 5 to 7 pm in the Coon Rapids Campus Visual Arts Building. One event is a collaborative project between the Visual Arts and English departments called Cover Art; and the other is the college’s annual juried art event called All for Art. Both event openings and exhibits are free and open to the public.
The debut of Cover Art offers a display of student 2D design, mixed media book cover designs inspired by essays, poems and short stories. At the opening reception, the display will be accompanied by student readings.
The annual All for Art showcases student art that has been critiqued and selected by two guest jurors. Alexa Horchowski, professor of sculpture at St. Cloud State University, and Stephanie Hunder, professor of printmaking and digital media at Concordia University, will judge this year’s exhibition.
