STARKVILLE, Miss. – Sixteen players from nine different institutions comprised the 2011 Louisville Slugger/NFCA NJCAA DIII All-American team that was announced Monday by the Association.

2011 NJCAA Division III national champion Gloucester and Anoka Ramsey led the way with three selections each, while this year’s national runner-up, DuPage, along with Corning and Brookdale notched two honorees each.

Pitcher Katie Trotter helped lead the Roadrunners to their first national title in program history by going 18-1 with a 1.90 ERA and 110 strikeouts in 2011.

Also playing a pivotal role in Gloucester’s title runs were catcher Caitlyn Pipolo and and infielder Lindsey Sampolski. Pipolo batted .529 this season with 28 RBIs, while Sampolski hit .439 and eight stolen bases.

Anoka Ramsey also tallied three All-Americans this season with catcher Andrea Schoephoerster, infielder Randee Hanson and outfielder Krystal Plouff.

Schoephoerster batted an even .500 for the Golden Rams this year while also driving in 75 runs. Hanson’s batting average was just under .500 this year, at .497, but led the team in RBIs with 82. The final of Anoka-Ramsey’s three selections, Plouff, led her team in stolen bases with 11, while only committing four errors in the field.

2011 national runners-up DuPage also had multiple selections this year with infielder Jacilyn Ciran and outfielder Isabelle Vogt. Vogt led the Chaparrals this season with a .507 batting average and a .556 on-base percentage, while Ciran followed closely behind by hitting .500 with a team-high 65 RBIs.

Outfielder Holly Frampton and designated player Monica Mattison were the two honorees for Corning this year. Mattison had 41 runs, 42 hits and 21 RBIs this season while Frampton hit .451 for the Red Barons while also turning in an impressive .805 slugging percentage.

Rounding out the teams with multiple selections this year was Brookdale with infielder Tracey Stern and outfielder Chelsea Alston. Stern hit .422 with 58 RBIs this season for the Jersey Blues, while Alston scored 58 runs, hit eight home runs and ended the year with a .422 average.

Ashley Snyder of Tompkins Cortland and Melissa Kanouse of Sussex County rounded out the pitching selections this season. Snyder went 16-1 for the Panthers this season with a 144 strikeouts and a 1.94 ERA, while Kanouse picked up 22 wins for the Skylanders while striking out 195 batters and allowing just 31 walks over 200 innings.

The final two selections on the 2011 Louisville Slugger/NFCA NJCAA Division III All-American team went to Middlesex County and Monroe with infielders Kristen Mickley and Alex Hebert, respectively. Mickley hit .481 this season with 25 RBIs and 30 runs, while Hebert drove in a team-high 61 runs to go along with a .464 batting average.
