The Anoka-Ramsey Golden Ram Volleyball team traveled to Willmar, Minn. and Fergus Falls, Minn. and came away with a 5-1 record the weekend of Aug. 27-29, earning three team players MCAC awards for their outstanding play.
Setter of the Week
Kristie Tessmer, Freshman
Anoka-Ramsey
Tessmer handed out 112 assists as the Golden Rams finished 5-1 during the week. Tessmer recorded 25 assists in a hard fought 3-2 win over Ellsworth, Iowa followed by 22 in a three game sweep of Dawson, Mont. Tessmer is from St. Michael, Minn.
Libero of the Week
Sarah Smith, Freshman
Anoka-Ramsey
Smith led the defensive effort for the 5-1 Golden Rams with 73 digs from her back row spot. In the season opener vs. Ellsworth, Smith had 25 digs. Sarah averaged 3.7 digs/game over 20 games. Smith is a graduate of Big Lake High School.
Hitter of the Week Alysha Reinhardt, Freshman Anoka-Ramsey Reinhardt, a 6’2 middle blocker, totaled 80 kills in 117 attempts for a .607 hitting average as Anoka Ramsey went 5-1 to open the season. She had a week high 17 kills versus Fergus Falls and added 15 in a 2-1 loss to Rochester, Minn. Reinhardt is a graduate of Coon Rapids High School. |
