If the library is closed, may I return materials?

Yes, the library has two book drops at which you may return most material. Book drops are located outside the library: one is exterior-at the college's north entrance (opposite the visitors' parking lot); the second is located near the main entrance of the library. The interior book drop is available during the hours the college is open. The exterior book drop is available 24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week. Both book drops are emptied on days the library is open.

Is the library open to the public?

Yes, while our primary mission is to serve Anoka-Ramsey students and staff, we also serve the community. With proper identification, non-Anoka-Ramsey students, who are at least 18 years, old may obtain a "community" card and borrow circulating materials.

May periodicals be checked out from the library?

In general, periodicals remain in the library. However, with authorization from library staff, Anoka-Ramsey faculty and staff may check them out for a limited time.

Will I be fined if my books are overdue?

There is a $10 processing fee for each item nine (9) or more days overdue.

Can I access the MnPALS and MnLINK library catalogues from home?

Yes, library patrons need to have an “activated” Anoka-Ramsey student ID card.

MnPALS – For MnPALS patrons must enter their 14 digit barcode number in the “Barcode Number” field. In the “Password” field, the patron must enter up to 16 characters of their last name.

MnLINK - For MnLINK patrons must enter their 14 digit barcod number in the “User ID” field. In the “Password” field, the patron must enter up to 16 characters of their last name.

If you do not know if your card has been activated, bring your card to the library and have it checked. Cards are normally activated upon issuance from student services.

Where can I have access to word-processing software to write my paper?

Student computers with word processing, spreadsheet, and PowerPoint software are available in T124. Students also have access to computer labs associated with their English, Business, and other classes. Consequently, D2L assignments should be completed in T124 and not on library computers.  The library's computers are for doing class related research and do not have Word-processing, Spreadsheet, and PowerPoint software.

Can I check-out headphones?

Yes, headphones are available for check-out for use on DVD/VHS units.  Headphones, however, are not to be used on library computers.  You may use headphones on the computers in T124.
