Post-season awards are starting to roll in for the Anoka-Ramsey Community College Women’s Basketball team, and the Golden Rams, who won the 2010 Southern Division Championship, placed four players on the All Division and All State teams.
Alex Moore and Marie Hanson were both selected to the first team All Southern Division team. Stephanie Pilgrim and Alyssa Silva were selected to the second team. In addition, Moore and Hanson received first team All State honors and Pilgrim and Silva second team All State honors.
The honors don’t stop there. Both Moore and Hanson were All Region selections as well.
“There is a reason we were pretty good this year,” says Anoka-Ramsey Head Coach Dave DeWitt. “We simply have good players! Mallory Cramer was more than deserving of All Division honors as well, but they won’t recognize more than four players from the same team. It’s too bad because Mallory is one of the best players in the league as well. She would have started for every single team in our division.”
Anoka-Ramsey finished the regular season 22-5 (10-2 conference) and ranked #5 in the country. They are competing in the MCAC tournament this weekend at Northland College in Thief River Falls, Minn.
Anoka-Ramsey Community College is a Division III Junior College located in Coon Rapids, Minn. and competes in the Minnesota Collegiate Athletic Conference. They have won six National Championships, the most recent in 2007 and been to the National tournament nine times.
