For the second consecutive week, an Anoka-Ramsey Community College Women’s Basketball player has been named MCAC Southern Division Player of the Week. Stephanie Pilgrim, a freshman from Maple Grove, Minn., and Osseo High School graduate, received the honor for her play against Mesabi Range College and Central Lakes College.
Against Mesabi Range, Pilgrim scored 21 points shooting 64 percent from the field making 9 of 14 field goal attempts. She followed that game up with a 22 point performance against Central Lakes, which included going 9 for 9 from the free throw line. For the year, she is averaging 17.7 points per game for the Golden Rams, who stand 4-2 for the year.
Pilgrim is the daughter of Jim and Marsha Pilgrim, of Maple Grove Minn.
Last week Marie Hanson, a freshman from Cambridge, Minn. received the honor for her play against Arizona Western and Yavapai in the Desert Classic in Yuma, Ariz.
Anoka-Ramsey Community College is a Division III JUCO in Coon Rapids, Minn. and competes in the Minnesota Collegiate Athletic Conference. The college has won six National Championships, most recently in 2007, and has also been to the national tournament nine times.
