THE 2 YEAR APPLICATION DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO FRIDAY, MARCH 8, 2013 AT 4:00 PM.
The Nursing Department of Anoka Ramsey Community College in collaboration with the Minnesota Alliance for Nursing Education (MANE) announces the development of a new nursing program scheduled to begin with general education courses in the Fall Semester of 2013. The two semesters of general education credits will be required before students can apply to the Baccalaureate in Nursing Program. Admission requirements are pending as the new nursing program unfolds at Coon Rapids and Cambridge.
Research on safety and effectiveness, has found the BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) nurse has proved to provide safer more effective patient care. The Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health—calls for a registered nurse workforce by 2020 that is 80 percent BSN-prepared.
Anoka Ramsey Community College 2 Year Associate Degree Nursing Program will discontinue admitting students to the current 2 Year Associate Degree Nursing Program after the admission of students Fall Semester, 2013.
June 1-21, 2013 we will not be accepting applications for 2 year nursing students for the spring of 2014 start. Check back for more information regarding the Fall 2014 application period for our new BSN program admission.
July 1-21, 2013: will be the last application period for LPN mobility students to enter into the current nursing program. Check back for more information regarding the Fall 2014 application period for our new BSN program admission.
More information is forthcoming regarding admission criteria, the application process, the general education credits needed, as well as the nursing curriculum.
