  1. Are you ready for online learning?  SmarterMeasure will let you know where you’re ready and where you’re not—plus offer resources to help!  Spend approximately 30 minutes completing the assessment.  Upon completion, print a customized report that addresses your strengths and areas for improvements.  Use the report for advising and planning sessions.

  2. Can you log in to your online course via D2L Brightspace?  You will not see your courses until the course start date and until your instructor makes them active.  Most instructors expect you online immediately—even if you have an in-person session later that first week.  Note:  Your username will be your StarID and your password will be the StarID password.  If you have not activated your StarID and password, go to https://starid.mnscu.edu/go/activate/ to do so.

  3. Have you activated your official college email account?

  4. Have you bought your books?

  5. What days, if any, do you meet in-person?  Find your course in the course schedule.  Look at both the meeting times and the NOTES (click on the course title and scroll down).
