Graduation and Commencement
Anoka-Ramsey Community College hosts two commencement ceremonies: one for Cambridge Campus graduates and one for Coon Rapids Campus graduates. The deadlines for submitting a graduation application are as follows:
Fall Semester: DEADLINE is July 1 Spring Semester: DEADLINE is November 1 Summer Session: DEADLINE is April 1

General Information
- Caps and Gowns: Caps and gowns are required to participate in commencement, and may be purchased through the bookstore.
- Catalog Requirement: Candidates for a two-year degree may choose to fulfill degree requirements outlined in any single catalog under which the student was enrolled, provided the catalog was in effect no more than four years preceding the date of graduation.
- Degree Audit Reports: Find out if you have met your degree requirements by getting a interactive audit report. Request audit online or schedule an appointment with a counselor or advisor for assistance.
- Diplomas and Diploma Covers: Diploma covers are handed out at the commencement ceremony. If you are not participating in Commencement, but would like a diploma cover, contact the Records and Registration Office. Diplomas are mailed approximately eight weeks after final certification.
- Nursing Pinning Ceremony: A Pinning Ceremony is held in the fall for Cambridge Canpus nursing graduates and in the spring for Coon Rapids Campus nursing graduates.
- Residency Requirement: At least 20 semester credits of your degree must be earned at Anoka-Ramsey This residency requirement is reduced to 12 credits if you have transferred in at least eight semester credits from another Minnesota State Colleges and Universitiies system institution or from the University of Minnesota.
Graduation Planning for Cambridge Campus
To finalize all graduation/commencement activities:
- Submit “intent to walk ” card.
- Pick up cap and gown.
- Purchase additional announcements in the bookstore (the first two are free and are mailed).
- Purchase Phi Theta Kappa tassel and stole in the bookstore.
- Arrange special accommodations, if necessary, for self and/or family members with Charlotte Lindahl.

Graduation Planning For Coon Rapids Campus: Grad Finale! April 14
Finalize all graduation/commencement activities in one day and one place!
- Submit “intent to walk ” card.
- Pick up cap and gown.
- Pick up two free announcements (additional announcements are available for a fee in the bookstore).
- Purchase Phi Theta Kappa tassel and stole.
- Arrange special accommodations, if necessary, self and/or family members.
- Get photo taken for a screen show during commencement.
- Complete Graduation Follow-Up Survey online.
- Enjoy free popcorn while visiting with other graduates.

Uanble to attend the Grad Finale and/or commencement? Call 763-433-1597 for an appointment to have your photo taken in the Institutional Advancement Office (Coon Rapids Campus L204, College Services upper level).
