    Department Description

    The Biomedical Technology Program at Anoka-Ramsey prepares students to design, manufacture or repair equipment that diagnoses or provides therapeutic relief to medical problems. 

    The medical device manufacturing industry is critically dependent on employees with great skills and up-to-date training on the full spectrum of design, regulatory, manufacturing and quality issues.  By working with faculty and advisors directly from the industry, we assure our students receive the most current, best practices available to make them highly valuable to themselves and their employers.

     

     

     

    Facilities and Labs 

    Biomedical Technology classes are offered as either online, hybrid (combination online and classroom), or evening classes.  Students will also have the opportunity to visit Medical Device Companies and see what processes go into developing, testing and launching a medical device in a highly regulated industry.

     

    Academic Options: Design, Manufacture or Repair

    Pick Your Career Pathway.  The Biomedical Technology Department is designed for traditional students or life-long learners to go at their own pace.  Certificates are fully stackable and can lead to an A.S. degree in Biomedical Technology or Applied Engineering Technology.  Please contact your academic advisor for more information.

    Both associate degrees are a part of a Two-Plus-Two program with Bemidji State University and are pathways to earn either a bachelors in Technology Management or Applied Engineering (either via online or traditional on campus options).  The Biomedical Technology Associates Degree also has great transfer options to St. Cloud State University, St. Mary's University and the University of Minnesota (Department of Continuing Education).  A student can major in Technology Management, Industrial Management (Biomedical Emphasis) or Manufacturing Operations Management.  Talk to an adivsor about your education and career goals.
