Golden Rams earns MCAC Volleyball and NJCAA Athletes of the Week Honors, Sept. 21

The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Volleyball team has posted seven wins to only four losses so far this season, making the team 3-2 and in 2nd place.

Though it is still early in the season, the team has come away with the following individual honors:

Hitter of the Week: Week 1
Agabo Okwan
5’10” Freshman
Anoka-Ramsey
Coon Rapids, MN
Okwan had 28 kills (2.8/g) while hitting at a .373 mark for the Golden Rams. Okwan recorded 12 of those kills while hitting .625 in a Division win over Minnesota West. She is a 5’10” freshman.

All-Around Player of the Week :Week 1
Jordan Moening
5’7” Sophomore
Anoka-Ramsey Elk River, MN
Moening had 32 kills (3.2/g) while hitting at a .407 clip as Anoka-Ramsey had a perfect 3-0 week. Moening added 42 digs (4.2/g) and eight serve aces. She is a sophomore outside hitter.
NJCAA Volleyball Players of the Week (Aug. 22 - Sept. 1)
The Golden Rams notched three victories in their first week of play thanks to the versatile, all-around play of Moening.

All-Around Player of the Week – Week 2
Jordan Moening

Moening had 27 kills (2.25/g) while hitting .268 and also had 97 digs (8.1/g) for Anoka- Ramsey. Moening also had three aces. She is a sophomore.

Setter of the Week  - Week 3
Rosie Johnson
5’6” Freshman
Anoka-Ramsey
Henning, MN
Johnson had 137 assists (9.6) as Anoka-Ramsey won 3 of 4. 52 assists came in a 3-1 win over DII Dakota County. Johnson, a freshman from Henning, also had nine kills (.538) and was 68-68 serving with seven aces.

All-Around Player of the Week – Week 3
Jordan Moening
5’7” Sophomore
Anoka-Ramsey
Elk River, MN
Moening had another excellent week for the Golden Rams (7-3, 3-1 South). Moening had 43 kills (3.07) while attacking at a .429 clip. She also had 42 digs (3.0) and 10 aces (0.7) Jordan is a sophomore.
