The Mercy and Unity Hospitals Foundation announced recently that it would once again support Prairie Home Delights, the annual scholarship fundraising event at Anoka-Ramsey Community College’s Coon Rapids Campus at the $3000 Cum Laude sponsorship level.
“We at the college work diligently to provide community businesses with qualified employees in a host of fields, including nursing,” said Michael Wall, Interim College Foundations Director. “We have an excellent relationship with the Mercy and Unity Hospitals Foundation as well as both hospitals. That relationship is a great example of the community-wide effort necessary to keep a college education affordable for more students, which in turn presents businesses with the workforce they need to succeed.”
“Mercy & Unity Hospitals Foundation is proud to return as a 2013 Prairie Home Delights sponsor and provide scholarships for deserving students at Anoka-Ramsey Community College,” said Mercy and Unity Hospitals Foundation President Joseph Strauss. “We are fortunate to have two colleges, Anoka Technical College and Anoka-Ramsey, which boasts the largest nursing program in the state, in close proximity to our hospitals. It is our pleasure to demonstrate our support of strong community-based education through sponsorship of this event.”
The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Foundation has awarded more than $1.7 million dollars in scholarships and $500,000 in equipment since its inception in 1974. Last year alone, more than 140 students received scholarships at the Coon Rapids Campus.
Prairie Home Delights is Friday, Oct. 25, 6 to 9 p.m. at the Anoka-Ramsey Community College Coon Rapids Campus. The event includes gourmet foods, cheeses and desserts, live music, and silent and live auctions.
