Aligned Colleges Human Resources Department Earns All-Star Award from MnSCU

October 01, 2013

The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system (MnSCU) Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources, Sue Applequist, presented the aligned Human Resources (HR) Department of Anoka Technical College and Anoka-Ramsey Community College an All-Star Award at its annual fall conference. This was the only team award given at the event held at Arrowwood Conference Center in Alexandria, Minn., Tuesday, Sept. 24.

During the past six months, the formerly separate HR departments created efficiencies through use of a single HR Helpdesk, and by aligning policies and procedures, hiring processes, and several HR-related transaction functions.

“This award is really about how well the team has supported one-another all while reducing the number of employees and working across two colleges with three campuses,” says Director of Human Resources for Anoka-Ramsey Community College, Darren Hoff. “This group of individuals have consistently come together and shown the true spirit of what a team can look like when focused on the greater good of both institutions.”

Members of Human Resources team include Darren Hoff, Dawn Hohmann, Monica Franklin, Jay Nelson, Gail Peterson and Kristine Voce.
