Presentation of Partnerships to Increase STEM Teaching and Learning for Local Biofuels Industry, April 13

April 02, 2012
Faculty members from Anoka-Ramsey Community College Cambridge Campus invite community members to attend Building Collaborative Partnerships to Increase STEM Teaching and Learning:

Friday, April 13
3 to 4:30 p.m.
Cambridge Campus Rm G202
(300 Spirit River Dr S, Cambridge. MN)
Refreshments will be served.

The presentation will summarize the unique partnership between EverCat Fuels, LLC in Isanti, and the chemistry, CNET and biology faculty at the college. The event also includes a tour of the bio-fuel demonstration site.

Building on a customized education model that includes teaching and contextualized learning efforts, the Chemistry, CNET and Biology faculty developed classroom materials that link real-world applications to the multifaceted bio-fuels industry. This partnership bridged a gap between Anoka-Ramsey, business and industry, and community members, while providing students with skills that can be applied directly to the bio-fuel industry.

Funding for the Building Collaborative Partnerships to Increase STEM Teaching and Learning project, was made available through a Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system faculty development grant to help prepare a bio-fuels industry workforce.

Reservations are not required but are requested. If you have questions about the presentation or the partnership, contact Melanie Waite- Altringer at 763-433-1327 or at
