College Hosts State/Regional Basketball Tournament, March 2-4

If like you basketball, then Anoka-Ramsey Community College is the place for you the weekend of March 2, 3 and 4.

The Anoka-Ramsey Coon Rapids Campus is hosting an unprecedented 14 games for Men’s and Women’s Basketball. Winners of each respective tournament will advance to the national tournament. 

The MCAC State/Region XIII Men’s Basketball Tournament will feature the Anoka-Ramsey Golden Rams along with seven other  top junior college teams from throughout Minnesota. The games times Friday, March 2 are 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. The first round pairings are yet to be determined, but can be found next week at AnokaRamsey.edu/en/lifeoutside/Activities/Athletics.aspx.

The Anoka-Ramsey Men’s team plays March 2 at 5 p.m. The rest of the tournament times are:

Saturday, March 3, 2012

  • 10 a.m.: Consolation Semi-Final
  • noon: Consolation Semi-Final
  • 2 p.m.: Winner’s Semi-Final
  • 4 p.m.: Winner’s Semi-Final

Sunday, March 4, 2012

  • 10 a.m.: Consolation Final (5th place)
  • noon:  3rd Place game
  • 2 p.m.: Championship

The Region XIIIA Women’s Basketball Tournament will also feature the first ranked team in the nation and defending NJCAA Div III National Champions, the Anoka-Ramsey Golden Rams. Pairings are yet to be determined, but below is the schedule for this tournament. 

Saturday, March 3, 2012

  • 6 p.m.: Anoka-Ramsey versus South #4
  • 8 p.m.: South #2 versus South #3

Sunday, March 4, 2012

  • 5 p.m.: Championship
