Anoka-Ramsey Community College is hosting a series of free, public events at the Cambridge Campus in recognition of Earth Day, April 22.
Documentary Screening: Tapped Wednesday, April 20 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again at 3 p.m. to 5pm Student Cafeteria Lounge Tapped is a 2009 documentary by Stephanie Soechtig that examines the role of the bottled water industry and its effects on health, climate change, pollution, U.S. reliance on oil and water as a commodity.
Documentary Screening: The 11th Hour Thursday, April 21 4 to 6 p.m. Student Cafeteria Lounge The 11th Hour is 2007 created, produced and narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio, with contributions from more than 50 politicians, scientists, and environmental activists, that examines global warming, deforestation, mass species extinction, and depletion of the oceans' habitats are all addressed. The film also proposes potential solutions to these problems through restorative action.
Climate Change Panel Discussion: Question the Science Thursday, April 21
6:30 to 7:30 p.m.: Panel Presentation (Doors open at 6 p.m.) 7:30 to 9 p.m.: Audience Questions Charles and Juanita Peterson Community Room (Rm. G202) Join Dr. John Abraham, Professor of Thermal Sciences, St. Thomas University, and Dr. Kevin Theissen, Professor of Geology, St. Thomas University for this opportunity for the audience to ask the experts the tough questions on the science of climate change.
