A bachelor of science in Community Psychology will join Anoka-Ramsey Community College’s University Portal program, which bring four-year degrees to the Anoka-Ramsey campuses in Cambridge and Coon Rapids. The Community Psychology degree, a collaborative effort between Anoka-Ramsey and St. Cloud State University, is scheduled to begin in fall 2009.
Information sessions about the latest four advanced degree offering at Anoka-Ramsey will be offered:
- Monday, May 4, 2 to 3 p.m., Coon Rapids Campus
Riverview Rm.
- Thursday, May 7, 5 to 6:30 p.m., Cambridge Campus

“The Community Psychology program from St. Cloud State University examines mental and behavioral health and relationships within the context of a person's needs, abilities and community,” says Dean and Chief Academic Officer, Deidra Peaslee. “Students have requested that the program be brought to Anoka-Ramsey. It will prepare graduates for numerous careers and enhance the communities in which our students live and work. “
Along with the Community Psychology degree, Anoka-Ramsey’s University Portal program has brought several other advanced degrees to its Cambridge Campus and Coon Rapids Campus:
- St. Cloud State University: a bachelor of arts in Elective Studies, a bachelor of science in Special education and a master of science in Special Education
- Metropolitan State University: a bachelor of science in Business Administration
- Minnesota State University Moorhead: a bachelor of science leading to Special Education E/BD licensure
- Bemidji State University: a bachelor of science in Nursing
“The need for advanced degrees in our service area is well-known,” says Anoka-Ramsey President Dr. Patrick M. Johns. “We expect to add more four-year degrees to our University Portal program in the near future.
