January 13, 2009

The Anoka-Ramsey Community College Cambridge Campus Foundation’s annual Scholardazzle raises scholarship funds for deserving local students. Challenging economic times are hitting college students especially hard. Attendees and auction donors are needed for this year's event, Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, 6 to 9 p.m., at Spectacular Events Banquet Center, 1001 Cty. Rd. 5 NE, Isanti, Minn.

Under the"Winter Interlude" theme, attendees are invited to enjoy a fabulous evening meeting new friends and rekindling old relationships in a festive setting amid crystal chandeliers and lovely decor. Lively contemporary acoustic guitar and vocals by accomplished local musicians Ken Krona and Lyle Swedeen will provide a comfortable backdrop for the evening. The dinner buffet will provide delectable sustenance for all.

Raffles and silent and live auctions will offer premium goods and services from local businesses and individuals. Auction items include something for everyone: drinks, a five course dinner for two and overnight stay at the luxurious Hotel Ivy in Minneapolis; jewelry; dinner for two and an overnight stay at Grand Casino Hinckley; dinner for two at Pine Brook Inn; a quilter’s/needleworker’s basket; two free stay certificates at AmericInn of North Branch whirlpool suite; 37” Toshiba flat screen HD LCD television; a Callaway golf bag; a Blu-Ray disc player; Minnesota Wild, Minnesota Swarm, Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Timberwolves tickets and memorabilia; free one-week stay for two at a sunny Fort Meyers, Fla. condo; a beautiful blue and white handmade quilt; a 7.2 FX Trek bicycle; restaurant certificates; pottery by local and college artists; and various gorgeous and valuable themed gift baskets and certificates. Many more auction items are arriving daily.

Local auctioneer and alum of Anoka-Ramsey Community College Cambridge Campus, John R. Carlson, will conduct the auction without cost to the Foundation.
