| Over the course of the past month, Anoka-Ramsey Community College has welcomed three distinguished new deans to its award-winning faculty. |

Tamara Arnott has joined the Anoka-Ramsey team on an interim basis as Dean of Research and Evaluation. Arnott holds a bachelor's of music degree in music education and a master's of arts degree in Liberal Studies from the State University of New York. She also holds an Education Specialist degree in higher education administration and a doctor of philosophy degree in educational administration and supervision from the University of Southern Mississippi. Arnott will be assisting the college with research and assessment until fall 2008. The college plans to begin the search for a permanent dean of research and evaluation this spring. |

| Dana Irgens, previously Director of Academic Planning and Program Development at Anoka-Ramsey, recently accepted the position of Dean of Arts and Letters (English, Reading, Study Skills, Journalism, Humanities, Philosophy, Speech, Theatre, Art, and Music) in late December. She holds a bachelor's of science degree in Special Education from St. Cloud State University and a master's of education degree from Hamline University. Additionally, Irgens is currently working on a master's degree in English at St. Cloud State University. Prior to employment at Anoka-Ramsey, Irgens served as faculty at Pine Technical College. She also has teaching experience at both the elementary and high school levels. |

Arun Goyal has joined the Anoka-Ramsey team as Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Born in Agra, India, just two miles away from the Taj Mahal, Goyal is a renowned plant biologist. He studied to master's level in India, moving to Australia to earn his doctorate from Wollongong University near Sydney. Goyal recently served as Department Head of biological and environmental sciences at Texas A&M University-Commerce. He has extensively published works and served as PI on numerous grant awards. Goyal holds a doctor of philosophy degree in Biology from Australia's Wollongong University as well as a master's of science degree in plant physiology and bachelor's of science in chemistry, zoology and botany. |
