The original three public meetings for Anoka-Ramsey Community College's Community strategic planning process themed "Designs for Distinction" have been rescheduled for:
- Monday, Jan. 12, 3 to 5 p.m., Coon Rapids Campus Conference Center Rm. SC270
- Friday, Jan. 16, 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., Coon Rapids Campus Conference Center Rm. SC270
- Tuesday, Jan. 13, noon to 2 p.m., Cambridge Campus Rm. G201
Community members are invited to attend any one of these sessions to assist Anoka-Ramsey in planning how to continue to engage and enhance its student-focused mission.
The three Search Conferences will be facilitated by Strategic Planning Consultant, Al Watts of inTEgro, Inc.
"It's imperative that the public provide input in these search conferences, so please consider this a personal invitation," says Anoka-Ramsey Community College President, Dr. Patrick M. Johns. "We want to hear from as many community people as possible-employers, civic leaders, alumni and community members-this is your college."
Search Conference participants are encouraged to discuss where the college should focus its priorities and allocate resources during the next five years and beyond to address the needs of the students it serves. Prior to attending one of the search conferences, participants are encouraged to consider:
- Anoka-Ramsey Community College's most significant strengths to enhance
- Programs or services Anoka-Ramsey could or should do differently to better achieve its mission and serve the community
- The needs and trends in the community and wider environment that may influence the college's future efforts
Under Watts' leadership, Anoka-Ramsey will incorporate opportunities for all stakeholder groups in strategic plan update process through April, including one-on-one interviews; focus sessions for faculty, staff, students, and alumni on both campuses; President's Council sessions; and sessions with key external groups such as the College Advisory Committee and campus foundation boards. During that time, the college's Strategic Planning Steering Committee will also gather demographic data, best practices information, economic information and other strategic intelligence. Using all of the input, the Steering Committee will draft a plan. Watts will conduct meetings with all of the stakeholder groups to get their reactions to the draft plan. The goal is to offer people multiple opportunities to provide input and then validate the composite of all the strategic intelligence.
