College Offers Wide Array of Veterans' Services

October 30, 2008
Anoka-Ramsey Community College Veterans Services Office recently expanded its services at both the Cambridge and Coon Rapids Campuses. Now all veterans, regardless of their length of service, can visit the Academic Support Center at the Cambridge Campus or Rm. 122 at the Coon Rapids Campus for a one-stop approach to higher education.

Anoka-Ramsey Community College Veterans Services Office staff, (from left) Dan Potter, Brandy Eddings and Phil O'Donnell, create a vet-friendly atmosphere at the college to help veterans succeed in their education. Veterans, as well as family and friends of veterans, are encouraged to call for more details about the services provided at their Cambridge Campus and Coon Rapids Campus offices.

"We are here to make the process of attending college as simple as possible for veterans," says Veterans Services Director, Phil O'Donnell. "From preliminary questions to financial aid and testing through registration and tutoring, we are here to help."

The Veterans Services Offices at both campuses offer:

  • Academic and Degree Planning
  • Financial Aid and G.I. Bill Information
  • Military and Transfer Credit Assessment
  • Tutoring Center for Studying
  • Lounge Access
  • Computer, Internet and Printing Access

All veterans are welcome to simply walk in or make an appointment.

"We are so pleased to be able to offer more services to more veterans," says O'Donnell. "Services are provided at no cost."

Along with the Veterans Services Center, Anoka-Ramsey Community College offers on-campus Military Education Resource Centers for veterans to make contact with other veterans and find the social support they need to succeed.
