"We in the English Department recognize the importance of a common book experience on campus," says Scott Stankey, ARCC English faculty. "It's important that our students have the experience of reading a book and then meeting the person who wrote that book to facilitate their growth, awareness and understanding of language and literature."
Due to the popularity of the authors visiting ARCC, a student-only reading is held an hour before the public reading to allow for an education-enhancing experience.
The public is also invited to plan ahead for a visit by author Ed-Bok Lee. Lee will be reading from his first book, " "Real Karaoke People: Poems and Prose," April 25, 11 a.m., Coon Rapids Campus Room B-235.
For more information about Helget, Lee or the visiting author series, visit www.anokaramsey.edu or contact Scott Stankey at 763-433-1396.
