Workshop for Small Business Owners to Focus on Federal, State Regulatory Changes

Small Business Development Center at Cambridge Campus of Anoka-Ramsey Community College will sponsor the one-day event.

Small business owners and operators can learn the ins and outs of changes in government requirements and regulations in an upcoming Minnesota Small Business Development Center (SBDC) workshop on May 18. The Anoka-Ramsey Community College (ARCC) Cambridge Campus SBDC will host the all-day event.

The workshop will bring together a panel of state and federal experts to discuss a variety of regulatory requirements and changes. It will cover topics such as overtime pay, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, employer/employee tax issues, and changes in exempt and non-exempt regulation and contractor status. The workshop is intended for small business owners, small business advisers and economic development professionals.

Event co-sponsors include the U.S. Department of Labor, OSHA, ADA Minnesota, the Minnesota Department of Revenue, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Employment and Economic Development, and Unemployment Insurance Minnesota.

The workshop will be held 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, in Room 105 of the Instructional Services Building on the ARCC Cambridge Campus.
