Welcome to the Anoka-Ramsey Community College Nursing Program!

Thank you for your interest in our programs! Anoka-Ramsey Community College offers nursing programs at both the Cambridge and the Coon Rapids campus. An Associate of Science Degree is awarded upon successful completion. Two program options are available:

  • 2-Year Nursing Program: designed for students with no previous nursing experience.
    • 30 General Education credits
    • 34 Core Nursing credits - these core courses must be completed sequentially
  • LPN Mobility Program: designed for current LPNs seeking to become registered nurses.
    • 30 General Education credits
    • 22 Core Nursing credits - these core courses must be completed sequentially
  • See the program guidesheet here.

Coursework in the program includes lectures, on-campus labs, and clinical experiences at health care facilities. Both programs prepare students for beginning professional nursing practice. Upon completion of the programs and following graduation, students are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensing Exam - RN (NCLEX-RN). The programs are approved by Minnesota Board of Nursing.

Please review the information on this site to have a better understanding of the nursing program, and how to best prepare yourself to apply. It is also your responsibility to review the General Information Packet (see "Forms I Need") prior to applying.
