Associate in Science Degree
Certificate Program
The emerging field of integrative health and healing is
rapidly growing due to customer and industry demand. Anoka-Ramsey
Community College collaborated with industry experts in the
field to design this exciting new program to meet that need.
Key concepts of the program include:
- Fundamental principles of integrative health
and healing, trends in holistic health, and the complexities
of this emerging
field
- Understanding of the interconnectedness of mind, body and
spirit of the human system
- Holistic healing philosophies and healing through social,
cultural, environmental and global perspectives of healing
- The role of healing strategies for self-care as well as strategies
in the healthcare system
- Ethical responsibilities in the practice of holistic healing
- Current scientific literature to support the emerging field
of integrative health and healing.
Two Program Options:
The emerging field of integrative health and healing has
captured the interest of healthcare providers, practitioners
and consumers. These programs are designed for students,
practitioners and learners seeking to understand the exciting,
new field of integrative health and healing. Curriculum in
these programs include core courses such as introduction
to holistic healing, the human body, holistic healing systems,
energy healing, and elective classes such as Qigong, Healing
Touch, and others.
Associate in Science Degree in Integrative Health and Healing
This
program is designed for learners seeking to understand the
field of integrative health and healing and want to
pursue an associate in science degree. The A.S. Degree
program will articulate to the First College Individualized
B.A. program at Metropolitan State University and the
American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Some
courses
in this program will transfer to various baccalaureate
programs such as the College of St. Catherine.
Certificate in Integrative Health and Healing
This program is designed for learners who already hold a
degree but are seeking to understand the field of integrative
health and healing. This certificate program has an optional
internship class as a capstone to the program. Graduates
of the certificate program will be able apply their new knowledge
and skills in a variety of settings such as hospitals, nursing
homes, chiropractic clinics, wellness centers, health clubs,
and businesses.
