GIS
(Geographic Information Systems and Mapping)
Associate in Science Degree

No GIS courses are being offered during the 2008-2009 academic year to allow for review of the GIS Programs.  GIS courses are planned to resume Fall Semester, 2009.

The field of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) deals with data manipulation and mapping in "layers" to best analyze and present data. It is an essential tool for assessing markets for new products, planning land use, and analyzing environmental issues.

This associate in science degree program prepares students for entry-level positions in the field of GIS and also provides the first two years of a bachelor's degree in GIS/Mapping. Coursework will transfer to the University of Minnesota.

A GIS certificate also is available.
