Options Leading to New Careers and Skills

If you're interested in some of the fastest growing careers in the country, Anoka-Ramsey offers a variety of degree and certificate options that can be completed in two years or less.

Our career programs provide students with industry standard skills, oral and written communication skills, and critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The following programs can take you in the direction of your dreams or help you change course along the way.

BMED (Biomedical Programs) at Anoka-Ramsey offer entry-level and advanced certificate options for positions in the biomedical device and product industry. The biomedical device industry is a fast-growth industry that needs skilled workers. We designed our programs specifically to meet the employment needs of our region.

Business Programs offer entry-level and transfer options for people in business positions. AnokaRamsey offers broad-based and specific program of studies in Accounting, Management and Marketing, and Administrative Management and Office Support.

CNET (Computer Networking and Telecommunications Programs) take as little as nine months to complete and offer entry-level options for positions in this fast-growing industry. The CNET program prepares you with the skills you need for employment in the personal computer and computer network fields. Learn to support printers, work-stations, servers and network infrastructure and enter the job market with a strong knowledge base in Local Area and Wide Area Network technologies.

CSCI (Computer Science) is designed to help you realize your educational goals in information technology. If you already have a degree, the certificate option can help you advance or change to a new and challenging career in information technology. If you plan to complete a four-year degree, the degree option is designed to transfer.

GIS (Geographic Information Systems and Mapping) This program prepares students for entry-level positions in the field of GIS and also provides the first two years of a bachelor's degree in GIS/Mapping. Coursework will transfer to the University of Minnesota.

IHH (Integrative Health & Healing) The emerging field of integrative health and healing is rapidly growing due to customer and industry demand. Anoka-Ramsey Community College collaborated with industry experts in the field to design this exciting new program to meet that need.

Nursing Programs offer Associate Degree options for Registered Nursing. As an RN you'll be prepared to help fill a growing shortage of nurses nationwide. Anoka-Ramsey offers a two-year Associate Degree and LPN-RN mobility for LPN's seeking to become registered nurses. Both programs prepare students for beginning professional nursing practice.

PTA (Physical Therapist Assistant). This program prepares students for employment as a Physical Therapist Assistant, a health-care provider who, with the guidance of a physical therapist, performs a wide variety of functions as part of the health-care team.
