Overview of AssessmentThe assessment of student learning is a comprehensive program to evaluate student learning with respect to learning goals, with the ultimate aim of improving student learning and strengthening learning programs. The process of assessment is relatively simple. It is a three-step process that involves:
A program is a cohesive course of study that usually leads to an academic award, such as a degree, diploma, or certificate. Anoka-Ramsey Community College has many types of degree and non-degree programs with unique and overlapping goals for student learning. Examples of programs at Anoka Ramsey include the Associate in Arts degree (A.A.), the Associate in Fine Arts degrees (A.F.A.) in Art and Music, the Associate in Science degrees (A.S.) in Accounting, Administrative Management, Biomedical Technology, Business, Computer Networking and Telecommunications, Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems, Integrative Health and Healing, Pre-Engineering, and Nursing, and the Associate in Applied Science degrees (A.A.S.) in Business and Physical Therapist Assistant. A successful assessment program requires the participation of all who are interested in the quality of our educational programs, including students, faculty, college administrators, and members of the public.
