Orientation & Registration for New Students

Coon Rapids North Entrance

Congratulations on your admittance to Anoka-Ramsey!

If you are a new student or a transfer student with less than 12 credits, then your next step is to sign up for an Orientation and Registration session. Once you attend a session, the orientation hold on your registration will be removed.

Orientation and Registration takes two to three hours, depending on your need. You need to sign up for a session to attend. Sorry, no walk-ins. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you may be asked to reschedule for a later session.

  • 1) Be accepted to Anoka-Ramsey.

    2) Take either the Accuplacer exam or submit a copy of your ACT score (taken within last 5 years) that meets Anoka-Ramsey's requirements.  If unsure, please visit our Testing page.

  • Please be sure to bring the following to your orientation session:

    • StarID and Password
    • Accuplacer test results or copy of ACT results
    • Photo ID (Driver's license, H.S. Card, or Passport)

  • At your Orientation and Registration Session, you will:

    • Learn about important college policies, resources, and procedures
    • Receive your student photo ID card
    • Meet fellow students
    • Have individual time with an Academic Advisor to help you with registering for your specific degree or program
    • Set up your college email
    • Set up Star Alert - our college closure system
