Educational Background: BS Consumer Home Economics Education from North Dakota State University, MS Counseling Psychology from St. Cloud State University, Coursework related to learning styles of students and faculty from Hamline University, Coursework in School Counseling from University of Wisconsin-Superior. Number of Years at Anoka-Ramsey Community College: I have been with Anoka-Ramsey Community College at the Cambridge Campus since 2002. Previously I was at Hibbing Community and Technical College for one and one/half years, and at Rainy River Community College for 13 years. Areas of Special Interest: Career, Academic, and Developmental Counseling, Psychology of Learning, Multi-Cultural Counseling particularly related to Native Americans, Counseling Support Services for Work to College Transition and Success of non-traditional students and military veterans. Classes Taught: I started my career teaching Junior and Senior High School Consumer Home Economics and Life Science. At The Community College level I have taught courses in the areas of Career Exploration/Psychology, Resume Writing, Interviewing, and Psychology of Work. I have taught various workshops in the areas of: Exploring Your Career Options using the Strong and Myers-Briggs, Transition to College, Learned Helplessness, High Risk Behaviors, Suicide and Depression, Self-Esteem, Eating Disorders, Grief, Using the Strong in Organizations, and Career Exploration and Decision Making Using Portfolios. Interests: It seems my spare time the past few years involved moving. Now that I am located in Cambridge I again plan to spend 'free' time walking/hiking, cross-country skiing, biking, swimming, camping, fishing, reading, cooking, and watching movies.
