Carlson Toyota has stepped forward to offer the Hole-In-One car at the 19th annual Anoka-Ramsey Community College Coon Rapids Campus Foundation golf tourney, Tuesday, July 27 at Majestic Oaks Golf Club in Ham Lake, Minn. and help raise funds for Anoka-Ramsey student scholarships.
“Our employees live and work in this community, and our customers go to the college,” says Carlson Toyota Sales Manager, Donato Vecere. “We want to give something back.”
The tournament is sponsored by the college’s Coon Rapids Campus Foundation to raise funds for the foundation’s scholarship program. The Coon Rapids Campus Foundation awarded more than 145 scholarships in 2009-2010, totaling more than $146,000.
“In these difficult economic times, raising money for scholarship awards becomes even more important,” says Larry Crane, Coon Rapids Campus Foundation Board Member and Golf Committee Chair. “A scholarship award can undeniably make the difference in a student’s ability to continue their education.”
Festivities for the fundraising event begin at noon with registration for carts, hole assignments and a putting contest. The roaring shotgun start is set for 1 p.m. to launch teams into 18-holes of golf in a best-ball scramble format.
Players can register individually for $125 and be placed into a foursome, or they can create their own foursome for $500. The registration fee includes the course fee, cart and buffet dinner. Additional dinner guests can be registered for $25 per person.
Businesses seeking both to promote their services or products and support education can sponsor a promotional tee sign for $200 per sign and donate items for tournament prizes.
Along with the great feeling of helping students succeed, participants receive an afternoon of golf, dinner and chances to win valuable prizes . Prizes will be awarded at the Italian buffet, which begins at 6 p.m.
