A doubleheader sweep — 11-7 and 18-6 — over St. Cloud Technical College combined with MSCTC-Fergus Falls’ sweep of Central Lakes College April 25, gave the Golden Rams a birth in the MCAC State Tournament for the first time since 2004. Anoka-Ramsey moved to 8-6 in the Central Division standings, and will finish no worse than 8-8 if they lose both games in their doubleheader against MSCTC-Fergus Falls, April 26. Central Lakes College wrapped up their regular season schedule with a doubleheader loss to MSCTC-Fergus Falls, finishing 7-9. Ridgewater College will tie the Golden Rams for second in the Central Division, behind champion MSCTC-Fergus Falls, if they beat St. Cloud Technical College twice in the final doubleheader, and if Anoka-Ramsey loses two to MSCTC-Fergus Falls. Three teams from the Central Division will qualify for the state tournament; however, Anoka-Ramsey is a lock for post-season play. If Ridgewater College splits their final doubleheader against St. Cloud Technical College, they will tie Central Lakes College for the third and final playoff spot and the MCAC will invoke a tie-breaker. Anoka-Ramsey’s first-round playoff game will be decided during a conference seeding meeting, April 27 or 28. The MCAC Tournament is scheduled May 1-3 in St. Cloud. |
