| A Conté crayon drawing by Anoka-Ramsey Community College student Kelly Nelson, titled "Still Life with a Classical Bust," is one of numerous art pieces in various mediums to be displayed at the first annual Cambridge Student Art Show at the Isanti Historical Society Heritage Center, May 8 - 15. The public is invited to the opening reception, Friday, May 8, 6 to 8 p.m. |
The exhibit includes students enrolled in art classes at the college’s Cambridge Campus this semester. The event, which will include oil and acrylic paintings, watercolors, drawings, photography, and ceramics and sculpture pieces, was organized by the college’s Art Club members, lead by the Club President, Chase Root and the Club Secretary, Jessica Girard. "Prior to this event, our students had few opportunities to display their work on campus or off campus,” says college Art faculty member, Marko Marian, “The show is a good sampling of the level of talent and high quality work produced within the Cambridge Art program. We are also thankful to the Isanti Historical Society, for both the opportunity to exhibit the students’ work publicly, and for the great opportunity to foster partnerships within the community.” |
