"The Scholardazzle event was not only a great financial success, but also a fun evening," says Cambridge Campus Foundation Chair, Dennis Troff. "The Scholardazzle Committee, led by board members Roger Anderson, Maureen O'Neill and Brad Larson, and college staff, led by Najat Kessler, simply created a spectacular evening for the cause of helping local students."
The success of the event showcases the generosity of the community, which was particularly evident in the three official sponsors: Cambridge Medical Center, Lake State Federal Credit Union and Community Pride Bank. Other major donors of $250 or more included Schlagel, Inc.; Minnco Credit Union; Woodland Development Corp.; Larry and Donna Turpen and Cambridge State Bank.
The 138 Scholardazzle attendees enjoyed a gourmet dinner and dessert buffet at the Spectacular Events Banquet Center in Isanti. Entertainment included music by Opus Ensemble, a trio of strolling musicians, a raffle and silent and live auctions of choice goods and services donated by area organizations and individuals. Regional celebrity auctioneers, Col. L. "Bob" Jr. and Lee Ann Vande Kamp, who donated their time, were a notable highlight of the evening.
"The committee was thrilled with the enthusiastic participation," notes Cambridge Campus Foundation Board Member and Scholardazzle Committee Chairperson, Roger Anderson. "Without the strong community and individual support none of this could have happened."
