Student Employment

Student employment is financial aid, which means the first step in getting a job on campus is to be notified in your award letter that you are eligible. The amount listed on your award letter is the maximum amount you may earn for the academic year. Student employment funds are limited, so they are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Being awarded student employment is not necessarily a guarantee of a job.

If you have been awarded student employment and are interested in securing a job on campus, check out our Job Listings . Once you’ve identified a job you are interested in, contact the supervisor to set up an interview. Make sure you bring all the materials you received with your award letter to your interview. After you have secured a student employment position, you and the supervisor will need to complete the Student Employment Authorization Form. Bring your completed Student Employment Authorization Form to the Financial Aid Office along with your social security card and drivers license or other acceptable documentation as listed on the Authorization Form. This must be done BEFORE performing any work as any hours worked before receiving your time sheet from the Financial Aid Office will be considered volunteer hours.

Student employment funds are available to be earned, and are thus disbursed to you in the form of a paycheck. You will be paid for the hours you work, up to your awarded amount. Payday is the second Friday following the Wednesday that time sheets are due. Students have the option of direct deposit or checks are mailed to the student's permanent mailing address.
