Student Employment

Student employment is financial aid, which means the first step in getting a job on campus is to be notified in your award letter that you are eligible. The amount listed on your award letter is the maximum amount you may earn for the academic year. Student employment funds are limited, so they are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Being awarded student employment is not necessarily a guarantee of a job.

If you have been awarded student employment and are interested in securing a job on campus, check out our Job Listings . Once you’ve identified a job you are interested in, contact the supervisor to set up an interview. Make sure you bring all the materials you received with your award letter to your interview. After you have secured a student employment position, you and the supervisor will need to complete the Student Employment Authorization Form. Bring your completed Student Employment Authorization Form to the Financial Aid Office along with your social security card and drivers license or other acceptable documentation as listed on the Authorization Form. This must be done BEFORE performing any work as any hours worked before receiving your time sheet from the Financial Aid Office will be considered volunteer hours.

Student employment funds are available to be earned, and are thus disbursed to you in the form of a paycheck. You will be paid for the hours you work, up to your awarded amount. Payday is the second Friday following the Wednesday that time sheets are due. Students have the option of direct deposit or checks are mailed to the student's permanent mailing address.

Job Title: America Reads Tutor

Duties: Tutoring elementary-aged children in reading skills at a pre-arranged local elementary school or community site. We are looking for students to tutor in both Cambridge and Isanti.

Qualifications: Able to work at least two, two-hour shifts per week off-campus. Meet all requirements of host-site including dress code, standards of conduct and attendance policies.

Job Title: Food Service Assistant

Duties: Assist the Cambridge Food Service vendor with preparation of menu items, clean, stock, cashier, and open/close cafeteria. Hours will vary between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm Mon thru Thurs and 7:00 am to 1:00 pm on Fridays. Two positions to start in early May.

Qualifications: Cashiering experience preferred but not necessary, ability to make change for payment given, honest and dependable with good customer service skills.

Job Title: Nursing Lab Assistant

Duties: Assisting in lab set up and take down, general upkeep of lab, organization of supplies and equipment, and participation in the inventory process.

Qualifications: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, honest and dependable with good communication and organizational skills. Basic computer skills. ARCC student, nursing student preferred.

Job Title: Office Assistant

Duties: General office duties including: typing, data entry, filing, answering phones, making copies, sending faxes, preparing mailings, scheduling appointments and assisting the public.

Qualifications: Good customer service skills, computer experience helpful, accuracy a must! Hours needed: Monday through Thursday for 1 1/2 hours between 4:30pm - 6:30pm. Please apply if you can fill these hours!

Job Title: Student Ambassador

Duties: Give campus tours. Assist with new student orientation sessions, prospective student recruitment, on and off-campus special events, other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Current Cambridge Campus student with minimum GPA of 2.5 and have completed minimum of 12 credits. Must qualify for work study.

Qualifications: Good customer service skills, ability to stand for lengths of time and bend/lift up to 50 pounds with no physical restrictions.

Job Title: Food Service Cashier

Duties: Accept payment for food and beverage and make change, clean counter and related equipment, ensure food and beverage selections are stocked. M, varied 8 a.m.-7:15 p.m.; T, 12:30-1 p.m., 5-7:15 p.m.; W, varied 8 a.m.-7:15 p.m.; Th, 12:30-1 p.m., 3:30-7:15 p.m.; F, 8-9 a.m.

Job Title: Network Services Assistant

Duties: Work with Network Services staff and other IT staff on current projects. Troubleshoot PC problems. Document network infrastructure. Hardware and software installations. Two hour blocks of time preferable.

Qualifications: Knowledge of computer hardware and software. CNET or Computer Science student preferred. Good PC troubleshooting skills required. Proficient with Microsoft Office Pro, including Visio. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Front page, Web content updates and Dreamweaver experience, preferably.

Job Title: Office Assistant
